A little about Rob, Andy and Embrace Photography, fine art luxury wedding photographers

Why are you here reading this?

Chances are, you’re on our website looking for the perfect wedding photographers. You love our photography but need more information to be reassured we are the right choice for you.
That’s wonderful news for us.

However, we understand that the decision is not simple. Your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life, involving months, if not years, of meticulous planning, preparation, and investment to make it perfect.

This is the day you will want to remember forever. You’ll want to look back and reminisce about the fun, laughter, and emotions, and be reminded of all the details you carefully crafted. It’s also a rare occasion where all your loved ones, family, and friends gather in one place.

You don’t want to risk ending up with poor-quality snaps or photos of just parts of the day. There’s only one chance to get it right – you can’t go back and retake the photos later!

Andy:

You probably don’t want to read a lengthy story about how I was practically born holding a camera and how my life journey brought me here. What matters more is my philosophy and personality—our photographic and technical skills should speak for themselves.

I am a bit of a tech geek at heart, but I spent 30 years in public service, enjoying every moment of helping people. It’s something that comes naturally to me.
I love making people laugh and smile—when you’re happy, I’m happy!

This desire to bring joy extends to my work. Both Rob and I dedicate a significant amount of time to meticulously editing and retouching your photographs. We strive to ensure the photos we deliver are of the highest quality. They should not just wow you the first time you see them, but every time you revisit them!

….We could not have asked for a better experience. Both Andy and Rob have a rare skill of ensuring shots are perfect and giving direction, without making you feel self conscious. All our guests commented on how professional they are while being friendly and blending in with the fun of the day…..

Rob:

It might sound a bit cliché, but I’ve spent my entire working life in the photography business. Most of my experience comes from the newspaper industry, which has perfectly prepared me for wedding photography—I absolutely love photographing people. I’m also quite meticulous when it comes to photos, always ensuring lighting, colours, and details are at their best.
During most of your wedding day, Andy and I will just blend in, capturing relaxed, candid photographs. However, I really love to get you both together for some beautifully lit portraits that you’ll cherish and proudly hang on your wall.
I know many of you might be thinking, “I hate having my photo taken” or “I just want natural photos.” These are common concerns, but don’t worry, we totally understand. We will help you feel and look relaxed, maybe even make you laugh. We’ll guide you and give tips on things like what to do with your hands.
We also understand that you don’t want to spend ages away from your guests having your photos taken. We get it—that’s why we plan beforehand. On the day, Andy and I work seamlessly together to speed things up and get you back to mingling with your guests as quickly as possible.

Covered my daughter’s wedding and wow what a fantastic job they did.
Professional, empathetic, nothing was too much trouble.
And the end result was like a Hello magazine centre spread...

So, how did Embrace Photography Start?

Can you believe our initial meeting was many years ago while photographing the Royal family?
Later, we met again, became friends and began photographing various events together. We quickly realised that we worked exceptionally well together. Rob introduced Andy to the world of commercial photography, and we started taking on different projects together.

Working together, we still undertake some commercial work, including commissions and event coverage, corporate work etc.. We even ran a photography club where we taught practical elements of photography – this was incredibly rewarding.

Given our mutual love for photographing people and events, it felt like a natural progression to apply our skills to fine art wedding photography. So, in 2019, we embarked on the journey to establish Embrace Photography, and we haven’t looked back since!

Why is Embrace Photography different?

Firstly we care. Really we do – it is our primary goal to ensure you have a beautiful set of photographs that tell the full story of your wedding day, from start to finish. We are happy to put ourselves out to achieve this as well. That’s why we arrive early to photograph preparations and then stay to the end to photograph everything in between including all the dancefloor antics! It’s not uncommon for us both to be there for over 16hrs on your big day. After all, how can we photograph your whole day if we aren’t there with you? There are not many that give that level of commitment.

As you can tell, we are thorough – being with you from start to finish is only part of it. We would love to meet with you before the wedding day to chat with you both about your wedding day plans and thoughts. This allows us to make sure we understand all the things that mean the most to you – such as specific group photos, sentimental items, etc..

We will create a gallery of photographs for you with fabulous detail that not only encompasses a wealth of candid photographs showing the laughter and emotions, but also specialises stunning, beautifully lit, canvas-worthy photos of you both. Combine that with a wealth of detail shots and jaw-dropping drone photographs and you have a complete luxury service giving you everything you could want.

Does it matter if you haven’t shot a wedding at our venue?
We don’t believe so at all. If we haven’t shot at your chosen venue before or it’s been a while since we were last there, we will go and visit it beforehand. We will look around and visualise things like how your day will pan out, where great spots for photos are, what the flora and fauna will look like and where and when the sun will set. Together with information from chatting with you, we create a tailored photography plan which speeds things up on the day and captures everything for you.

We are available to contact as often as you like for any questions or ideas you may have.

We had good contact with them whenever needed with one final zoom meeting a few days before the wedding which put us completely at ease. We loved having two photographers as they could catch both bride and groom getting ready leading up to the ceremony. During the day they slotted completely in with us never feeling like we had them in the way. With the two photographers we also managed to get different angles of ceremony. We have just watched our preview slideshow and to say we are pleased is an understatement. We assumed after other weddings we’d been to that Andy and Rob would disappear after first dance but late in the night they came to get us for of champagne shot. We can’t thank them both enough for documenting the best day of our lives and will be sure to recommend if ever anyone says they are looking for photographers....
